Shape Detectives - Identifying Different Shapes! Grade 1 Mathematics Link to Lesson Plan Link to Moose Math App HEY FRIENDS:)  Teaching our Shape Detectives lesson reminded me of how powerful it can be to make math hands-on, playful, and connected to the real world. Working with my group, I saw how collaboration and creativity can turn a simple concept like identifying shapes, into something more engaging and memorable for students. What stood out to me most is how easily students can build understanding when they are encouraged to see shapes not just on a worksheet, but in the world around them! Moving forward, I see great potential in using digital tools like the Moose Math App to help advance student learning and engagement. The Lost and Found game within this app is a perfect way for students to practice shape recognition in a fun, interactive way that feels like play but also reinforces the key concepts at hand. I imagine using the app as an interactive station in math centers...

Blog #1 - Beginning of the Fall 2025 Semester!

My previous experience with AI applications and how I have used them: HEY FRIENDS:)  When I think back to my own experiences with AI applications, I remember how scared I was to use it at first. The conversations that always circled around using any form of AI were usually that these tools were being used for students to "cheat", and because of the way it was perceived at the time, I was always very hesitant to use it. But then, as the conversations started to shift more towards AI being a good tool that could help with understanding within our studies, I started to play around with it a little more and I'm really glad that I did! AI tools like Photo Math and ChatGPT, has helped me to breakdown concepts for better understanding within various areas of my learning when I don't fully understand something. As well as for brainstorming ideas and creating outlines to help me have an idea on where to start for projects. Especially when I feel stuck. I don't see these to...
