Robotics in Action : Coding with Haiku's

Hey friends!!
This is a group integrated lesson I created with my constructive besties:)
In the future, I would love to use our BOLT+ Haiku lesson or a similar robotics based activities within my own classroom to create meaningful cross-curricular learning experiences that students will remember forever. Integrating robotics into subjects like Language Arts allows students to see technology as more than just a tool, it becomes a creative outlet for expression and problem-solving. I think lessons like this help students make deeper connections between coding, communication, and creativity, while building confidence as they share their work with others, and students get to have fun while learning. I also see robotics as an engaging way to support collaboration and inclusivity where all students of all skill levels can contribute ideas, experiment, and celebrate their successes together. Using technology in this way encourages curiosity, persistence, and innovation, which are all skills I want to foster within my future students!
Hey Michelle!
ReplyDeleteI love how you discussed cross-circular learning experiences, and how you want to make these experiences memorable for ALL students. I also loved reading about how you elaborated on how students should have fun while learning, and how they can make make deeper connections to coding, while they build confidence within these newer areas of learning! Especially lessons/activities that incorporate technology/robotics. I loved how you are so passionate about achieving the goals of making the students feel confidence within their learning and to have them experiment. I connected your reflection best to Inquiry-based learning. I loved reading your reflection, thanks so much for sharing :) It was fantastic working with you on our lesson!!
Hi Michelle! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on how we can integrate technology into language arts. I really appreciated how you emphasized that this type of integration helps bridge the gap for students who may experience challenges in either subject area. By combining technology with literacy, we’re able to reach students through different learning styles and strengths, making the learning experience more inclusive and engaging. I also agree that lessons like this can foster collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving, which in turn help build students’ confidence and sense of accomplishment. It’s exciting to think about how these approaches can empower students to take more ownership of their learning.
